Sales & Reservation Policy

We are proud to operate a performance herd with a strong focus on health, conformation, milk production, and temperament. To ensure the best experience for buyers and the best outcomes for our animals, please review the following Sales & Reservation Policy:

Reservations

    •    Reservations may be made on upcoming kiddings by contacting us directly. We accept a limited number of pre-kidding reservations for each breeding.

    •    Pre-kidding reservations do not guarantee a specific sex or color.

    •    We reserve the right to retain any kid at any time, regardless of reservation status.

Notification & Deposit

    •    Once a reserved kid is born, the buyer will be notified within 24–48 hours.

    •    A non-refundable 50% deposit is required within 72 hours of notification to hold the kid. If no deposit is received, the kid will be offered to the next person on the list or made available for sale.

    •    Deposits may be paid via PayPal (friends & family only), Venmo or cash.

Pickup and Boarding

    •  Kids must be picked up no later than 6 weeks of age unless alternate arrangements are made in writing and agreed upon by both parties.

    •    After 6 weeks, a boarding fee of $5 per day per animal  will be applied, unless a specific arrangement has been made in advance.

    •    If a kid is not picked up by 8 weeks of age, and no further communication or payment has been made, the deposit is forfeited, and the kid will be considered available for resale.

Contract & Final Payment

    •    Full payment is due at or before the time of pickup.

    •    A signed Sales Agreement must be completed before the kid leaves the farm.

Our Right to Refuse Sale

Crème De La Crème reserves the right to refuse any sale at any time, at our discretion, if we feel it is not in the best interest of the animal. If this occurs before pickup, any deposit will be refunded in full.

Health & Management

    •    All kids are disbudded (if appropriate), and raised in a CAE/CL/Johne’s/Q-fever clean-tested herd.

    •    Kids are dam-raised, hybrid-raised, or bottle-fed at our discretion for optimal health and development.

    •    We strive to ensure that all kids are healthy and thriving at the time of pickup. Health Guarantee terms may be outlined in a separate section or contract.

Health Guarantee

At Créme de la Créme, we prioritize the health and well-being of all our animals. We stand behind the quality of our goats and strive to ensure each animal leaves our farm in excellent health.

Our Health Guarantee includes the following terms:

1.    General Health at Sale

All animals are sold as healthy to the best of our knowledge at the time of transfer. Each animal will be free from visible signs of illness, injury, or contagious disease. A general health check will be performed prior to pickup or transport.

2.    Veterinary Documentation

Upon request, we will provide a copy of veterinary records including vaccinations, deworming schedule, and any other pertinent treatments or medications the animal has received (when applicable).

3.    Short-Term Guarantee (48 Hours)

The buyer has 48 hours from the time of pickup or delivery to have the animal examined by a licensed veterinarian at the buyer’s expense. If a serious, untreatable health condition (existing prior to sale) is diagnosed in writing by the veterinarian within that time frame, we will offer a replacement goat of equal value.

4.    Buyer Responsibility Post-Sale

Once the animal leaves our property, the buyer assumes full responsibility for its health, safety, and care. We are not liable for illness, injury, stress, or death that may occur due to transport, improper care, exposure to new environments, or failure to follow recommended health protocols.

5.    No Guarantee Against Future Health Issues

We cannot guarantee long-term health, milk production, reproductive performance, or growth, as these depend on multiple factors beyond our control after leaving the farm.

6.    Clean Herd Testing

Our herd is routinely tested for CAE (Caprine Arthritis Encephalitis), CL (Caseous Lymphadenitis), Q-fever and Johne’s Disease through a certified veterinary lab. We will provide the most recent negative test results upon request. While we make every effort to maintain a closed, biosecure herd, no test can guarantee future health, especially after animals are exposed to other environments.

   7.    Disbudding

Kids are disbudded between 3–10 days of age using a hot iron method, unless otherwise requested in advance. While every effort is made to ensure proper disbudding, we cannot guarantee animals will not develop scurs (small horn regrowth), which can occur even with correct technique. Bucks, in particular, are more prone to scurs.

8.   ALL SALES ARE FINAL

First Right of Refusal

We care deeply about the long-term welfare of every goat bred and raised at Créme de la Créme. As part of our commitment to responsible breeding and herd management, all animals sold from our farm are subject to a First Right of Refusal agreement.

Resale or Rehoming

If at any time the buyer chooses to sell, rehome, lease, or otherwise transfer ownership of a goat purchased from Créme de la Créme, we request the first opportunity to reclaim the animal. This includes any circumstance where the goat is no longer wanted, needed, or able to be cared for by the buyer.

Return/Buyback Terms

If we choose to exercise our right of first refusal, arrangements will be made to either buy back the goat at a mutually agreed-upon price (based on age, health, condition, and original sale price) or accept the animal back as a return without compensation if necessary. Transportation is to be discussed on a case-by-case basis.

Air Transport Policy

We offer air transport for goats (weather permitting per airline policy), but only under the following conditions:

Direct flights only: To ensure the safety and well-being of our animals, we only ship goats on non-stop, direct flights.

Minimum of two goats per flight: Goats must fly in pairs for comfort and companionship during travel. We do not ship single goats by air.

Please contact us in advance to coordinate air transport arrangements.

Health Inspection Requirement and Signed Agreement

To ensure the welfare of each animal and establish clear mutual understanding, the following inspection and acknowledgment requirements apply to all goat sales from Créme de la Créme:

  • Mandatory Health Inspection Within 48 Hours

The buyer agrees to conduct either an in-person physical inspection, a live virtual inspection (via Zoom, FaceTime, etc.) or an in-person veterinary inspection of the purchased animal within 48-72 hours of pickup. This inspection is intended to confirm that the goat is in good health and condition upon arrival at its new home.

  • Signed Acknowledgment of Condition

Following the inspection, the buyer must complete and return a signed Health Acknowledgment Agreement, confirming that:

    •    The animal was inspected within 48-72 hours of leaving the farm.

    •    No visible injuries, signs of illness, or behavioral concerns were observed.

    •    The buyer accepts full responsibility for the goat’s care and condition going forward.

  • Failure to Comply

If the buyer fails to complete an inspection or return the signed agreement within the 48-hour window, the Health Guarantee portion of the contract becomes void, and Créme de la Créme will not be held liable for any health concerns that may arise after that point.

  • Veterinary Option

If choosing the veterinary inspection option, the buyer is responsible for scheduling and all associated costs. We are happy to accommodate and coordinate with your chosen veterinarian for a smooth and transparent process.
